- 1 lb Italian sausage
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1 small onion
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 8 ounces pasta (rigatoni, elbow, mostaciolli)
- 8 ounces ricotta cheese
- 8 ounces cottage cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 (16 ounce) jars spaghetti sauce
- mushroom (optional)
directions
- Brown sausage, hamburger, onion and garlic. Drain.
- In large pasta pot, boil pasta and cook aldente' as recommended on package. Drain. Return to pasta pot.
- Add cooked meat mixture, cheeses, spaghetti sauce and mushrooms. Mix thoroughly.
- You can serve immediately, or put in large casserole dish and cover with additional mozzarella and bake until bubbly (approx 45 min).
- You can make this dish lighter by using low-fat burger and no-fat cheeses and it still tastes fantastic. I can fool my husband and kids every time!
