Non-Alcoholic Hurricanes

"these are delicious, and my grandchildren love making them. This is my version of another recipe. You may use diet V8, and light orange juice instead of regular.. try it also made with lemon juice in place of orange juice. Both are great!(If you prefer the alcoholic version.. add rum.. both light and dark..) But we prefer non alcoholic...You can find grenadine in the low carb version on the net."

  1. We chose this as one of three drinks to serve at our "Mocktail Bar" at our corporate summer picnic. Because we were serving to a crowd, we mixed the V8 and orange juice ahead of time and skipped the shaker. We used 9 oz. glasses filling them just over 1/2 way with the mix, adding about 3/4 ounce of grenadine and topped with Sprite. The drink went over well with our employees! Very well liked!

  2. Very, very good! The kids enjoyed getting to have "party" drinks too. I didn't have 12-oz. glasses, which is what I think this recipe would go in, so I tried to adjust to fit my smaller ones. I think I put too much grenadine in though as the line between the red and orange was a bit high. Sorry! My shaker wouldn't hold 12 pieces of ice, so I just put as much in as I could without overflowing it. Thanks blgpts! I hope you like the photos!! :)

  3. this is so good, and my kids loved it. So did the adults. My grandaughter loved making them for everyone. Made her feel naughty...lol. If you like more of a tang, they can be made with lemon juice instead of orange juice. wonderful concoction... and they are great at family get togethers... Everyone can enjoy them. Use real hurricane glasses if you can.
