Noble Roman's Pizza Crust

"Here is a second recipe that I have been using for 20 years. My high school Home Ec.teacher gave use this recipe to use. yeast is 1/2 small pkg. It is wonderful."

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water., stir in sugar, salt and flour.
  • Beat till smooth.
  • Add more flour till easy to handle.
  • Knead for 5 minutes.
  • Place in greased bowl with greased side up cover with dishtowel let rise for 5 minutes for pizza dough. Rise longer if making breadsticks around 35 minutes.
  • Dough is ready when indention stays in the dough - make indention with ur thumb.
  • Punch down dough and roll out place on greased cookie sheet or baking stone.
  • *** Breadsticks cut pieces of dough and roll out like snake to make breadsticks.
  • add sauce and toppings
  • 400 for 25 minutes.

Questions & Replies

  1. Where and when does the oil go in? I assume you add it with everything else. But another question is do you add both the 1TBSP and 1 1/2 tsp of oil in or is part of the oil for greasing the pan or bowl it rises in?

<p>My love of cooking started when I was in grade school. My earliest memory was making a wonderful birthday cake from Scratch with my Grandmother in a big bright red bowl. I remember we had a lot of fun making it and eating the cake. <br /><br />I have a wonderful husband and 2 daughters 16yrs and 4yrs old. I have a Social Work degree and worked with mentally ill adults for several years. I really enjoyed my work in a group home. I currently am staying home with my youngest and am not sure what I will do when she goes to school. I might get back into the Social Work field. <br /><br />I am sharing recipes that I want to keep safe from my own family favorites as well as recipes that I would like to try and haven't made yet. <br /><br />Recipezaar is a wonderful place and I love all the recipes everyone shares.
