I have found that this white sauce is just as good as a sauce made with a roux, but much quicker and easier. Add cheese or stock cubes depending on the recipe. Adding a spoon of honey makes for a lovely sweet sauce.
- Mix a little of the milk with the cornflour to form a smooth paste and mix into the rest of the milk.
- Heat in a saucepan on a medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened.

Perfectly smooth and creamy white sauce, even with skim milk! I tried this recipe shortly after you posted it and forgot to review it. It has changed the way I make white sauce. This is so quick and easy, I do it this way all the time now. Plus it works with skim milk too for a lowfat sauce. I often add a dash of garlic powder or some cheddar cheese. Thanks for posting it, it's definitely a keeper.
