This is really 4.5 stars. I add a dash of cayenne pepper and use really sharp cheese. Don't over cook the rice. It makes a big, big difference.
Going to give this a 5 because it was a great base, after reading reviews I did add the following: 2 oz of cheese (bringing the total to 10 oz) (we also used White Extra sharp cheddar cheese), 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp black pepper. I did use cream of mushroom. Baked it for exactly what it said. Yum!
DH really loved this, almost as much as his favorite, Pepsi Pork Roast(recipe#:13269). I used extra sharp cheddar and about a cup of Velveeta (cubed). For the rice, I used 2 boxes (approx 5 cups cooked)of Uncle Bens Wild Rice, with the seasoning packets, which added a lot of extra flavor. Served with Awesome Baked Pork Chops (recipe#:34499) which was also really delicious.
EXCELLENT!! my son LOVED broccoli casserole as a child and this Christmas asked me to make it and I was so touched because it brought back so many memories. I looked for a recipe similar to what I used to make and found this. EVERYONE LOVED IT!! I used 1 can of cream mushroom and 1 can of cream chicken and extra sharp cheddar. It seemed a little stiff so I added some milk until it had the consistency I wanted. Added a panko and asiago topping and my son ABSOLUTELY loved it as did everyone else at dinner. It was a real winner and I can't thank you enough for this wonderful recipe!!!
Yum! I used fresh broccoli and added about a cup of bite sized cooked chicken breast. Thanks for the recipe- its a keeper!
I topped the casserole with parmesan cheese and then dotted the cheese with little bits of butter.
Good standard comfort food! I used Cream Soup Substitutes instead of cream of soup with good results. Thanks for sharing the recipe!
I like how this was very easy to make but for some reason was a bit dry for my tastes. Maybe I should have added milk or water with the 2 soups? The taste was very good though...
I made this for a potluck and everyone loved it. I added diced chicken to the sauteed onions at the beginning and seasoned bread crumbs at the end.
Yummy! Even though I'm not a huge broccoli fan, I made a large dent in this! Really easy to make and a great weeknight dinner recipe as you can just leave it in the oven to do its thing! Definitely be making this again!
