Very Good. Left out the raisin and used chocolate chips and mini marshmellows. My boys went wild!!

well definately simple to make. I was shocked to see how thin they come out. I'm used to very thick rice krispie squares. But no worries, thin is good too. If I want thick, I"ll just move down a pan size.

My family loved these. Yes they did tend to fall apart but were a wonderful change from the regular granola bars.

They were tasty but did have a tendency to fall apart. I would recommend sticking them in the frezzer because that really gave them the chance to harden up and stick together. Oh-I used dried cranberries instead of raisins and everyone enjoyed them. Overall good to eat!

These are THE BEST granola bars EVER!!! I will never buy them again! They are just like the expensive store bought kind, but way cheaper and more flexible. I ommitted the raisins since I don't care for them much. For those who've commented that these are too dry...They are delicately balanced if you make them as indicated, so if you add too many extra liquid absorbing ingredients or too many extras in general you'll have to adjust the liquid and rice/oat content to compensate, or the size of the pieces you are adding (like chopping your nuts/fruit pieces, etc). Also, be cautious not to boil your sugars too long or you may lose some needed moisture. The first time I made them I added extra chocolate chips, but found that there were too many (the only time I have found that you can have too much chocolate!)and so the oats couldn't stick like they were supposed to in some places. I used the amount in the recipe the second time, and chopped them, and found it was perfect! I also use crunchy peanut butter to get the extra crunchiness, and use slightly more to compensate. I let the mixture cool slightly (too much and it is impossible to stir!) before I add my chocolate so they don't melt. I also lined my 9x13 pan with wax paper and sprayed with pam so they will pop out of the pan and onto my cutting board with ease. Pressing VERY firmly is also a key to success with these. I cut them while they are still a tiny bit warm and then cool them the rest of the way and store them in a ziplock bag. I passed them onto a friend with Celiac's Disease (allergic to gluten) and she just adjusted the necessary ingredients to make gluten free granola bars!! Fabulous recipe!

These are good but very sweet. I used mini chocolate chips and they melted when added which was fine with me. I used sunflower seeds instead of the raisins, and you can really taste the sunflower seeds. My 5 year old loved them, my 3 year old did not. These are easy and fast to make. Thanks for sharing.

These are the bomb! I couldn't resist a little tweaking to suit our tastes ;). We abhor rasins, so I used coconut there and added 1t. cinnamon to the dry ing. Not fond of p'nut butter so I used almond butter instead (yum!). I left out the choc. chips for a mixture of seeds and nuts. Do mix the dry ingredients very well before adding the syrup mixture. Also, press into the pan very firmly, compacting the mixture. I used a loaf pan sprayed with pam. Once they were "set up" I sliced them fairly thinly with my electric knife (but a serrated knife would work fine). This way they resembled the store bought ones my daughter goes ga ga over. Then, I thought hmmm, wonder if you could make them crispy... so I sprayed the cookie sheet with pam and baked up the slices at 300 for 10 min. on each side -careful turning them. Now I'm the granola bar goddess! Thank you a million times over Koechin! I can hardly wait to fiddle with these again!

I was looking for a great tasting chewy energy bar that I could eat while out on my long bike rides...this recipe is the bomb! I did make a few changes...I used cocoa crispies as recommended by another subscriber, added sunflower seeds, substituted 1/2 cup of Kashi 7 grain puff cereal for 1/2 cup of the old fashioned oats, and used brown rice syrup instead of corn syrup...YUMMY! Thank you!

These were really tasty. I made them as directed except that I used a mix of brown sugar and sugar twin and I only used 1/4 cup raisins (simmered in spiced rum beforehand) and added some chopped cashews instead. I did have a problem with them falling apart though. Possibly I just wasn't paying enough attention and measured something wrong, but there didn't seem to be enough of the syrup mixture to hold the dry mixture together.

This is one of the snack items I tried for my long road trip. They were very good. Easy to make. Moist and chewy. Thanks Koechin (Chef). Bullwinkle.

Thanks for this recipe! You can really make it your own with all the goodies you can add :) We don't like ganola bars to be very sweet so reduced the sugar to 1/4 cup and threw in a handful of chopped pecans... yum! Thanks again.

These are amazing - I seriously could have eaten the whole pan! I used natural peanut butter and mini chocolate chips, but otherwise made as directed. I am tempted to try a higher fibre cereal in place of the rice krispies. :) Thanks!

I ran across this while looking thru your other recipes. So glad I did. These are **10**. I have 4 children who love to snack. Make them with your favorite add-ins. They are great. Thank you for sharing.

These are wonderful and it's a very versatile recipe. I used old fashioned oats instead of quick, and mini M&M's instead of chocolate chips - so they're very colorful from the M&M's. We didn't have Rice Krispies so I used Cocoa Krispies like another reviewer did. My kids love these and I will be making them many more times I'm sure.

I tried this recipe b/c of Marge's picture. I used craisins instead of rainsins and used crunchy peanut butter. My kids loved them! I liked them a lot, too. The craisins I used aren't very tart so they complimented the chocolate very well. I love how versatile this recipe can be. Next time I will try peanuts and pretzel pieces thrown in as well (omitting some of the dry ingredients so the sugar/corn syrup doesn't get stretched too far) just to add a bit of salt to these sweet bars. I don't see a reason to buy commercially prepared granola bars anymore, especially since I can make them with anything I want in them now, and I can pronounce all of the ingredients. Thank you for the keeper! This recipe is going into my hardbound collection.

Very good! I completely forgot to stir in the choc chips and they were still delicious. Can't wait till next time when I do use them. I used cocoa krispies because that's what I had. Quick, Easy and delicious.
