A recipe that my mother in law gave me long ago and I make often for my hubby.
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 tablespoons cocoa
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons peanut butter
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups oatmeal
- In a saucepan, put sugar, cocoa, salt, butter and milk. Bring to a boil for 2 minutes. Take off heat and add peanut butter, vanilla and oats.
- Drop quickly by rounded spoonful onto waxed paper.
I love these and DH loves these. We ate these growing up! The only thing different I do is add coconut. When we make them now I have to make two batches, one with coconut and one without(DH doesn't like coconut). These are the greatest in my book!
I remember making and eating these many years ago! What memories! lol I freeze these and they hold up well. My hubby likes them because, to him, they're almost a candy, and almost a cookie! Great cookie,Dissie! Make for "24 Daus of Cookies" at KK's forum on KK!
