These turned out just like Mom made. I loved them. Brings back so many memories of my childhood. So easy to make, so yummy. A favorite of mine! Thanks for posting this recipe. This recipe is a keeper!

Well, as always with this recipe (I was given the same one by my mom years and years ago) - sometimes it turns out and sometimes it doesn't. Today they didn't. I boiled for the right amount of time, I made sure my ingredients were measured properly - but they just refused to set. :( I think humidity plays a big role in the making of these cookies and it was a bit muggy here today. Thanks for posting this yummy recipe though-- it is a keeper and usually turns out just fine! Even without them being set, it still tastes scrumptious.

I add some walnuts to these and they were a great hit. I used to make these when I was a teen and also lost the recipe. Thanks for bring back a lost favorite.

I used to make these all the time when my kids were little and had misplaced my recipe (hence the reason I now use 'Zaar) and was glad to find the exact recipe. Thanks Loves2Bake!
