These are so easy to make, and are great for a quick chocolate fix! A favourite since childhood!
- 1⁄2 cup milk
- 1⁄2 cup margarine
- 2 cups sugar
- 6 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup coconut
- 3 cups quick oats
- Mix, milk, margarine, sugar& cocoa in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Add vanilla, coconut, & oats, mix thoroughly and drop from tablespoon onto wax paper or cookie sheets.
- Chill until set & enjoy!

Have been looking for the recipe ever since,,,tried many different recipes but none were the right ones....until this one came along!!!! I dropped some off to a girlfriends house while she was at school - when she came home to find them she called me on my cell phone...all I heard from the other end of the phone was "OH MY GOD-THESE ARE AMAZING"!!!
These are wonderful! I used Virtually fat-free milk to make these slightly guilt-free. They taste very good and very filling. Thanks so much for sharing!
These were great! One suggestion: once it starts to boil, add the oatmeal and continue to boil for 3 minutes (no more than 3 minutes) and then add the coconut and vanilla.
