  1. Beat butter until creamy.
  2. Add sugar and beat well.
  3. Add water, vanilla and oats.
  4. Blend well and chill.
  5. Shape dough into small balls.
  6. Roll them into chopped nuts, colored sugar, chocolate or coconut.
  7. Decorate with gumdrops, candied cherries, chocolate chips, red hots or pecans.
  8. Store in the refrigerator.
