I am so glad I came across this recipe. I just made it this morning and it's absolutely wonderful. For my personal taste, the next time I make this, I am going to try to use a little less sugar and instead of meringue make some whipped cream. But, WOW, so good.

We thought this was pretty good, but I've made better banana puddings using other recipes. The vanilla wafers totally turned to mush and the taste of them was negligible. Maybe it will taste better tomorrow, who knows?

I made this recipe for my husbands birthday, per his request.it was really easy, and very YUMMY! its actually better the next day, after the cookies have softened.I doubled the pudding,to make sure the layers were thick.

I made this tonight because I bought heaps of bananas at 25c/lb and they were getting over ripe. I had to make my own Vanilla Wafers using Vanilla Wafers! Only things I will tweak for next time is try to make more custard. Not alot more as there wouldn't be room in the 1.5 qt casserole but the final result was a bit dry and I had trouble making the custard go far enough to make 3 layers. Also my meringue is weeping big time. I am pretty sure this is because I didn't beat it stiff enough, I was too worried I'd ruin it! I highly recommend making your own vanilla wafers leave the store bought kind for making it with instand pudding and topping with coolwhip.... this beats that hands down! Making it all from scratch is the way to go! I am so glad I did.

We may not have cooked this enough, and it never really set up... the flavor, however, was wonderful and the DD in particular gobbled it up. Made for Beverage Tag.

This really is the old fashion way of making Banana Pudding, but it is still the exact recipe I use and is absolutely fantastic. Thanks for posting, now I won't have to :)
