Nightcap Coffee Mix

Recipe by Anita Harris

Got this recipe several years ago from I made up a big batch for Christmas one year to give away to friends and co-workers. I placed in decorative 8oz glass jars and tied with red and green ribbon. I also made chocolate covered spoons, wrapped in red or green plastic wrap and tied a couple to each jar. This is a very tasty hot drink and the cardamom gives it an extra special taste (cardamom is rather pricy but well worth it). Of course, I kept some for myself. You can double, triple, etc the recipe if desired.

I just made a cup of coffee with this mix, but I'm sorry I have to say... I did not care for it, and I thought the coffee had an odd taste to it. After reading the 2 reviews, I thought I would enjoy this mix, especially after I already spent $10.00 on a (1.75 ounce) bottle of the cardamon spice needed for this recipe. Needless to say, I was rather disapointed. Anita, I'm sorry I wasn't able to give this recipe a good review, but I'm glad to see others enjoyed it. One more thing... before I made this mix, I had looked up this recipe at recipesource, and it states to add 1 tablespoon of the coffee mix to the (8-oz.) of hot water. I think the 1 teaspoon of coffee mix posted, is a type error. I also thought the tablespoon was not enough, so I added 2 tablesp., and I thought that was the right amount to add to the hot water.
