New Year's Black Eyed Peas

This is a great recipe to start the new year. One of my family's favorites.

  1. Soak peas overnight.
  2. Cut up onion and place it along with all other ingredients in a crockpot with water filled to just 1 inch below top.
  3. Cook until peas are tender.
  4. Add water if needed during cooking.
  5. Serve with warm bread or crackers.
