Hi! I'm just learning how to really cook. After 30 continuous years of teenagers I am finally at the stage where my last one will eat something besides mac and cheese, cup 'o noodles, and has finally stopped thinking that the "fresh and tasty" burger at McDonalds is a culinary breakthrough. It's a brave new world out here at the 'zaar and I'm excited to begin exploring! My true loves are painting and gardening, my favorite cookbook is "the frenchwoman's kitchen". I love vintage tableware, and collect old tablecloths, china and silver. I love a pretty table and enjoy all the weird little "instruments" that were concocted during the victorian age for "fine dining". Like chop holders! My idea of a perfect day is when people prepare food and eat all day together, interspersed with swimming or shopping for more food. My dream is that I have a live in maid and laundress to clean everything while I gardened, cooked, painted and entertained... As an afterthought, I thought I'd add that I like to "cook by the moon". All that means is that I see what astrological sign that the moon is in for the day and try to follow what foods are associated with that sign. Its fun and gives me parameters and ideas! (I garden by the moon too, using the age old astrology and moon phases to determine chores for the garden. Its loads of fun and keeps me organised!) :)
