I made this grape starter for the first time and after waiting the appropriate time, fed it for three days and made Jim Lahey's no knead sour dough bread in a Dutch oven. Pretty good for my first attempt. Look forward to trying Daniel Leader's Pain de campagne next week. Thanks, Nancy for the great starter recipe.

WOW I lost this starter recipe from Silverton's and so glad to see you share it at food.com. I am getting back to baking bread and purchased Goldrush starter dry in small package but think will save it and get some grapes.

Just finished making my starter by this recipe fed it for the 3 days made bread from my starter I made a big mess my bread did not rise also when I cooked it the bread was packed and weighed a ton don't have any idea what went wrong
