This made a great cake I made it for my wife for mothers day and everyone loved it
What a great and moist cake, I remember just after moving to the states, back a million years ago.. my neighbor brought on along for my first potluck. Tried it exactly as stated and added the cream cheese frosting, as Amy had suggested. Wonderful. This is a last Goodby to Stacy.
This was great for my son's first birthday-- as easy as a boxed mix, but it tasted like something special. It took almost an hour in my two round pans. I kept testing with a toothpick, but it was hard to tell if it was done due to the cherries making the toothpick look moist. I frosted this with cream cheese frosting and it was really a good combo. This cake wasn't as delicious as I thought it was going to be, but it did turn out to be a good cake. I followed the directions exactly with the exception that I used a 9x13" cake pan and only baked the cake about 25 minutes. Thank you for a good recipe. I will be making this again sometime!
Simple and quick cake but tastes and looks like many hours were spent making it. This cake will definitely be one of my families favorites for holidays! Thank you Stacy for sharing this recipe with us.
This is very much like a Black Forest Cake without all the work. I put a cream cheese topping on it, then garnished with chocolate and cherries.
Growing up, my mom would make us our favorite cake for our birthdays. This was mine, and I never had the recipe. Thanks Stacky, my mom has been gone 11 years now but I'll be making this for myself for my birthday next week!
