  1. cream butter and sugar (just using wooden spoon).
  2. add egg.
  3. mix well.
  4. fold in sifted flour and cocoa alternately with milk and vanilla/.
  5. top with mixed cocoa and sugar.
  6. gently pour hot water over ingredients.
  7. bake in moderate oven for 30-40 minutes.

Brilliant comfort food! I mixed everything in a processor so it was very quick and easy.

I made this for dinner tonight. It's a wonderful comfort food recipe that we all loved. I like this recipe for self saucing pudding as it's one of the only ones on here I've found to have an egg in it-I think that adds to the richness of it.
