  1. .Combine broth with all dry ingredients and bay leaf in a saucepan, stir together well. Bring to a boil. Put the roast in slow cooker and pour the broth mixture over roast. Cover and cook on low for 10-12 hours or high for 4-5 hours. When roast is done, remove the bay leaf, and shred with a fork. When shredded cook in slow cooker for an additional 1/2 hour.

This was awesome! I found this on another popular recipe website as "Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches" a couple years ago and loved it. On the other website it has very high reviews from hundreds of people. The changes I made was to cook it on low for 8-10 hours and after it was shredded put it back into the juices in the crockpot for another 1/2- 1 1/2 hours. I use the leftovers from this to make a great Shredded Beef Enchilada Casserole.

Very good and very easy to make. I followed the recipe as written other then I used onion powder instead of onion salt as I didn't have any onion salt. I doubled the beef broth to cover the roast but kept the other ingredients the same. I did use two packets of the salad mix.

This was great. Very easy to prep in morning and came home to wonderful smelling house. had on kaiser rolls with fries and salad. thanks!
