I have tried each of the most popular spag sauces here on zaar and this is by far the winner. I love that the parm is added to the sauce. I made it with the meatballs suggested, for the whole extended family for my hubby's b-day dinner and it was a smash. THanks so much, everyone wanted the recipe. Followed the recipe exactly only I added an extra tbsp sugar and simmered it all in a huge crockpot. Thanks again, and I won't be trying any of the other spag recipes because this is the only one I need! Thanks thanks thanks!!!

Wonderful sauce! The only subs I made were dumping the garlic powder and using 4 cloves of real garlic instead. Like many others, I also deglazed the pan with a glass of red wine. I made with the meat-a-balls and served with linguine. The day old meatballs and sauce made fantastic wraps and also got served up the next day over mashed potato.

This make a very rich and flavoursome sauce, as recommended I made with Mama's meat-a-balls. This made enough for 4 large servings plus heaps of leftovers which I froze and enjoyed over 2 more meals. Dont change a thing...it's FAB!!

This is excellent sauce, the only thing I did different was just to use one pot I sauteed the meat until browned took that out then added the onion and garlic sauteed that a little and then dumped everything back into the same pot and let it simmer. Thank you for the great recipe, this is just how my Italian mother and mother-in-law make it. My mother-in-law always uses a piece of beef, pork and chicken in her sauce, she says it gives it a certain sweetness if that makes sense. Thanks again.

Yes, these is an excellent spaghetti sauce! My husband is from Philly so it takes alot to please him with Italian food. He said this was "authentic" and delicious! I also added your Mama Luliucci's meatballs. We used the leftovers to make meatball sandwiches. Delicious!

This is simply the best I have ever made. I put Sweet sausage instead of meatballs. Well worth the time it takes to cook. I made in the roaster over so I did not have to babysit it all day.

Great flavor. Made your Famous Meat-A-Balls (32618) and put a sparerib and peperoni in the sauce. My husband wants it again tonight. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful recipe :)

Well, I must say that this sauce is Phenomenal!! My husband & I have been searching for a great sauce for a while now and no cookbook sauce/gravy can come close. We followed your instructions and in 3 hours, we were in heaven! (Sooo worth the wait) Needless to say, this will not be the last time we enjoy this. This sauce is very good. The only changes I did to it was to use a can of diced tomatoes, and added a little more spices. I added her meatball recipe. Which made it turn out great. Thanks again for this recipe. It will be a regular in our family.

This sauce was so good! I did not skip a step or alter a thing! The whole house smelled divine while this was cooking! I could not keep DH from dipping into the sauce as it simmered on the stove. I added Mama Iuliucci Famous Meat-a-Balls (#32618) and the optional Pepperoni to the sauce. The sauce actually tasted even better the second day! Thank you for sharing your family recipe!

I had never made homemade spaghetti sauce before. This was a very simple recipe to follow. Used a piece of Polish sausage and homemade meatballs. Everybody loved it. Thanks for the recipe.

I made this with ground veal and ground beef, which I prepared as directed. I only simmered for a couple hours - with the addition of the meat it was really thick. I also added some basil, oregano and crushed pepper flakes.

This is a wondeful recipe! I let mine cook for the better part of 7 hours - and it was thick delicious! I only used the italian sausage, but also added some fresh chopped basil and some chilli flakes (we like our sauce a bit spicy). I served it with Angel Hair pasta, caesar salad and my Portuguese bread recipe - truly a fantastci meal! I will use this recipe from now on - yummy! Thank-you for sharing!

Great taste. Frying the onions in the meat drippings gave the sauce great flavor. I used Itallian sausage. DH and dd loved it! I'll be making this again.

This is a wonderful sauce. I too used Italian sausage and the corresponding meatballs. The red wine makes it! Freezes well too.
