Green beans are my favorite vegetable and these were very yummy. I used fresh haricots verts and steamed them for about 4 minutes. I used center cut bacon so the bacon did not generate too much grease. I also added about a teaspoon of sugar. Thanks for sharing.

Yum! These were so good. I made as directed but did as AZPARZYCH suggested and added the butter after draining the grease. My grandson thought that these were the best part of dinner. Thanks for sharing this great keeper. Made for Best of 2012 Tag.

LOVE these green beans!! Had all my favorites mixed in and they were quick and easy to make. Not sure if I liked cooking the bacon in the butter, may try cooking the bacon, draining the grease and then adding the butter and continuing on from there... Made for 2012 Spring PAC.

We thought this was an excellent side dish. I used frozen green beans, frozen precooked bacon, and pimentos. I also used more pine nuts. The dish was colorful & vibrant on the plate. Thank you for sharing your recipe! Made for Fall 08 Pick A Chef.

Hi Annas_Mom_Erin, oh my, I just loved your dish! I am a canned green beans lover! Love the fresh too but this dish would taste good with either the canned or fresh. Made a few changes - used cashews(that's what I had on hand), omitted the butter because of the bacon, used crushed red pepper flakes & used a little more garlic = great eating and people were all asking for seconds! Very tasty indeed, and another great way to prepare this versatile vegetable. A side-dish for Sunday lunch, it was attractive, tasty, and quickly prepared, quickly eaten! I forgot to mention, I used fresh beans, and steamed them briefly before adding them to the onion mix. I'll be making this again, just for us, a lovely vegetable dish. Thanks for sharing :D
