This is so delicious and moist. It makes 7-8 loaf pans and can be frozen. I have had this recipe for at least 25 years I am sure. Got it from of course "A friend"

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 12 cups apricot brandy
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 19 ounces sliced peaches, & juice mashed
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 19 ounces crushed pineapple in juice
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 20 ounces maraschino cherries (cut up & juice)
  • 2 12 cups raisins
  • 4 (18 ounce) boxes Betty Crocker Super Moist cake mix (Yellow or White)
  • 4 cups chopped nuts
  • 16 eggs
  • 1 12 cups oil

Directions

  1. (Day 1) Use large glass covered bowl but not airtight needs to stay at room temperature. Mix Brandy,sugar, and peaches.
  2. Stir every day for the next 10 days.
  3. (Day 10) Add Sugar and crushed pineapple & juice.
  4. Continue stirring every day for the next 10 days.
  5. (Day 20) Add sugar, marachino cherries with juice and dry raisins.
  6. Mix together & stir for the next 10 days.
  7. (Day 30) Preperation and cooking of loaves.
  8. Drain fruits from bowl. Leftover juice will give enough for 5 starters. Which must be used withing 2 days. Do not freeze juice, must be kept at room temperature.
  9. Add 2 boxes of Betty Crocker "super Moist" cake to fruit in a large bowl.
  10. Add chopped nuts. Stir well.
  11. In another large bowl beat eggs and oil and 2 more cake mixes.
  12. Add all together and mix well.
  13. Pour into seven or 8 greased & floured aluminum loaf pans.
  14. Cook in oven 325F 50 - 60 minutes or more.
