My Favourite Apple Crisp

"This is the yummiest apple crisp I have ever eaten. You can make it with all apples or use half apples and half pears or peaches."

  • Fruit: Combine all of the fruit in a bowl.
  • Mix the sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
  • Toss with the fruit.
  • Place in a 2-quart shallow casserole or an 8" square baking pan.
  • Drizzle with apple or orange juice.
  • Topping: Combine the oats, flour, sugar, cinnamon and allspice.
  • Cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  • Spoon over the fruit mixture.
  • Bake at 375 degrees F for 40-45 minutes or until the fruit is tender.
  • Serve warm.

  1. Irmgard, I absolutely loved this. I used all pears (so much for it being an "apple" crisp), and 1 cup of fresh blueberries, which is what I had on hand. Wouldn't change a thing-- thanks so much for posting.
     
  2. Lovely! I used 6 Granny Smith apples and fresh cranberries and it was so good. Forgot the orange juice, actually, but we still enjoyed the heck out of this.
