OMG! I had to join zaar just so I could comment on this recipe! My husband and I made this the other night and we even doubled the recipe for a family dinner night and it was devoured!! I was urged to find a good goulash recipes by my husband and I stumbled across yours thankfully!! Thanks for posting a tasty recipe that was my husbands childhood favorite!! :-)
I made this for this last night. I didn't follow it to the t only used 1/2 lb meet, no beans, and used only a tablespoon of chili powder. I looked amazing I was so proud of me. But I to say I really don't like the chili powder in this. But My boyfriend said it was good.
I thought this was very yummy. I cut down on the amounts quite a bit since I didn't want 16 servings. I also had to use elbow pasta and tomato sauce instead of juice since I didn't have the other ingredients. I added garlic as well. It was very tasty - thank you for this recipe!
Everyone who has tried this loves it ! So easy to make. I like to add hot sauce to mine. Tastes even better on day 2.
This recipe is super easy, using ingredients you often already have on hand, and it's such a crowd pleaser too! It's easy to adjust the amount of this or that for personal preference, or to increase the number of servings when the neighbor kids show up for dinner. I enjoy it with a dollop of sour cream on top, a bit of shredded jack cheese, and buttered cornbread on the side. Add a tossed salad for veggies, chocolate cake for the sweet tooth and you’ve got a company-worthy full meal deal!
Some people like the goulash soupy others like it thicker, so add tomato juice to taste.
