This was just not what I expected. I wanted more seasoning and the meatloaf was very dense. The bacon made it too greasy for our tastes (perhaps I should have par-cooked it before putting it on the meat.) We did enjoy it more the next night when I made a mushroom gravy to top it with. Donna

This is a good recipe and easy to make. The only problem I had was that the whole thing fell apart. I followed the recipe exactly. Thanks, Donna

Sign in or create an accountThis was yummy! Even my husband who "doesn't like meatloaf" really enjoyed it and asked if I'd make it again sometime. I added some small cubes of cheddar cheese to the meat mixture and it came out great. The bacon was nice and crispy and the meatloaf was moist. Meatloaf doesn't get any easier than this! I'm adding this recipe to my collection.

Now that's a good meatloaf!!! The bacon gives this an awesome flavor. Don't change a THING - this is perfect as is! (Although next time I make it I'm gonna roll some mozzarella inside and see how I like it)

This is my family's favorite recipe for meatloaf hands down. It always turns out moist and flavorful. Great for sandwiches later in the week.

You definately named this recipe correctly! This has become our family's request for birthday dinners as well as a standard monthly meal! It is definately a five star recipe just as written.

I've made this twice now. It's super easy. I did substitute a half of chopped onion for the green pepper and honey barbecue sauce for the ketchup. I also spread some of the barbecue sauce on top.

Great meatloaf! This is the 1st time I've ever made meatloaf--I always thought I'd mess it up somehow. Instead of ketchup, I used up some leftover spaghetti sauce-3/4 cup. I didn't have green onion or bacon so just left them out and added ketchup on the top per suggestions of other reviews. Will make this again. Very moist.

This meatloaf was "okay". I did NOT like how the bacon fat settled on the top of the meatloaf. If I were to make it again, I would probably slightly cook the bacon first (so I could drain the fat off) and then add the bacon to the top when the meatloaf only has an hour left.

We loved it! I've been making my husband's favourite meatloaf for years, but I thought a change would be nice. Wow, our meatloaf was so moist & the flavour was perfect!! I did make a few changes based on what I had at home. I omitted the green peppers, I used regular breadcrumbs & extra lean ground beef. I followed another review & added ketchup on top prior to the bacon. Thank you for posting this recipe!! My meatloaf pan is going to get alot of great usage!
