This is the recipe I always use when we have hamburgers. The original is from my 'Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book' (1989 -- not so NEW anymore!), but I've changed it a little.

These were awesome. We loved them and now have two official great burger recipes! They were very juicy but with lettuce on the bottom it seemed to keep the juices in the bun. This recipe goes to keeper file - thanks!

Directions

  1. Mix all patty ingredients in a large bowl until well combined.
  2. Shape into patties (I usually do 6, although my husband would prefer 4 larger patties!).
  3. Grill or broil (grilling tastes way better) and serve with all the other good stuff.
  4. OPEN WIDE!
