The trick is to let it chilld for 24 hours before serving. Don't skimp on the quality of blue cheese either, it can make or break a good dressing. Many of my friends who like blue cheese dressing beg me to make this when they come to dinner! Finally, I just gave them the recipe..
- 3⁄4 cup sour cream
- 6 ounces blue cheese
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1⁄3 cups mayonnaise
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1⁄3 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Combine all ingredients and stir until well blended. Cover and chill for 24 hours before serving.
Am not quite sure why my last review did not go through, but HOLY MOLEY this is good. As a matter of fact- my entire family was raving that yes, this was indeed the "Best Blue Cheese Dressing!" -And now I can secretly claim it to be mine. :) A wonderful recipe- with just the right amount of zip. I love the addition of the dry mustard- and I did add an additional minced clove of garlic. I just couldn't resist. Thanks so much! Made for Spring, 09, PAC!!!
