This is excellent. It doesn't have a strong vinegar flavor. It does have a strong smell of vinegar when it is simmering but I love vinegar. I followed the recipe exactly other than adding a little salt. This goes into my handwritten recipe box!!! Thanks for sharing.

I made this as one of the dipping sauces for a fondue party. It was excellent. Definitely vinegary NC-style BBQ, and makes more of a watery sauce typical of this style. Living in NC myself, cant wait to make some pork to pair with it! :) Thanks!!

We just moved here to Alabama and love the vinegar based barbecue sauces down here. I was hoping to find a good recipe here so I could make it at home and this is the one! Wow! It's delicious. The heat is just perfect for our tastes. Thank you so much for posting this recipe.

My mother taught me the subtleties of vinegar in cooking, which incidentally was the secret to many of her soups, as well as to her signature meatloaf. When I smell vinegar cooking, I expect the results to be good and this recipe came through. Have used it with both chicken and pork. Thanks for posting!
