this recipie is great but better if you use garlic and herb pepper, lemon and herb or sea salt,
and instead of onions use the fried onion chips. not to mention fresh non canned mushrooms

It was okay, but bland. Tasted like a hamburger, it definately could benefit from some seasonings at least in the meat. It might be a good one to play around with. It's definately fast, had it on the table and cleaned up in 45 minutes!

I had this too at Denny's so good, and simple too! Is this the original recipe from denny's?

Thanks for a great idea! I used my usual recipe for salisbury steak (very similar to this, but I use seasoned salt and add a bit of sherry to the mushrooms before adding the gravy.) When I poured the hot gravy over the steaks, the cheese melted into this ooey-gooey wonderful mess! It was sooooo good!!

I really loved the melted swiss cheese and gravy. This was even better than Denny's. I will make again. Thank you for the wonderful dinner.
