Mushroom and Wine Sauce for Steaks

Wonderful with grilled steaks!

  1. In a skillet or large saucepan melt butter over medium-high heat.
  2. Add shallots and garlic.
  3. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring often.
  4. Add Mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often.
  5. While stirring add flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Slowly add the consomme, red wine and Worcestershire.
  7. Cook for 5 minutes if you prefer a thinner sauce, up to 10 for a thicker sauce.
  8. Season with pepper.
  9. Serve in a gravy bowl.
