I just HAD to make the mummy cupcakes, as they looked SO cute...and as DS was having a Halloween/Birthday party it seemed appropriate.
I did cheat somewhat though, and instead of using frosting I used royal icing, rolled very thinly, and then cut into strips and layered onto the cupcake, bandage style.
It actually worked really well, and didn't take too long either. The kids ( and the adults too for that matter) thought that they were fabulous.
Thanks so much for the fantastic idea. Made for PRMR.

Took a cupcake decorating class where we made these designs, and they were a BIG hit! I particularly like the variety of monsters provided in this article. With a little practice, they are easy to do, and my husband and coworkers gobbled them up. SUCCESS. :D

I gotta tell ya...these mummys are adorable! I made them and brought them to work - what a hit! I used the store bought frosting, which turned out kinda shiny, so it didn't really look like cotton wrap, but people still got the idea! Thanks for sharing your creativity!

I love your profile and recipes! Do you have any short simple treats that could be made in like 5 minutes? I love those kinds of recipes!
