Multi Purpose Marinade

"I love this marinade because its so versatile. You can make several batches of the base, store that in the fridge & add the seasonings when you decide on your entree. It is very tasty and a terrific tenderizer for those "economy cuts"."

  1. this is truly multipurpose, thanks for this easy marinade. i used tarragon vinegar on boneless skinless chicken breasts and they were enjoyed by all

  2. Ultra good! marinade - used it with beef. Did not change a thing:) Will try with the other meats as well real soon. Love the flavour that worcestershire sauce lends to meats. Believe me I discovered that sauce only after I discovered Zaar! Slurp! Slurp!

  3. Excellent! I made the "For Pork" version as directed. I marinaded a pork loin roast for 6 hours before roasting. I was delighted with the complexity and layering of flavors. The Worchestershire and soy added an Oriental flavor, countered by the sage and garlic and zipped up a bit with mustard and pepper. This is a very versatile base for marinades. Next up will be the "For Poultry" version!

  4. This marinade is excellent. I didn't have any lemon juice, so I used lime juice and omitted the dry mustard. I didn't use any of the additional ingredients this time, but will next time. I marinated some boneless skinless chicken breasts for several hours and then grilled. Delicious.

  5. This recipe is one I keep in my file drawer ready to go when needing a marinade. Not only has it become one of my favorite multi purpose marinades it's a recipe I have shared with others as well as recommended ... only to find I have yet to review! Have made it so often that I make up the main ingredients and go from there - it's amazing how many variations one can go with when it comes to the seasonings - and always makes for wonderfully flavored and tender. This is one I keep in the fridge when I am going to be needing to grill or BBQ. Thank you for sharing - it's a real winner in my kitchen!

In the words of Tracy Byrd, "I'm from the country & I like it that way"!! On May 1, 2008 my husband and I started a new adventure. We'll be living in a 37 foot RV while our new home is under construction. Its out in the country on a dead end dirt road with lots of trees. For the next 4 months or so, most meals will be cooked on the BBQ and life will be full of challenges! We love spending quality time with our friends & family - especially the grandkids!! The photo is 4 generations - my 84 year old mother, myself, my daughter & my youngest granddaughter - taken at the end of 2006. I've participated in many contests & events here on Zaar but this is the first banner that I've posted. My thanks to Dreamgoddess for hosting the contest & SusieD for the banner design! <img src="http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f249/Dreamgoddess555/Narrow1-1.jpg">
