I am going to give this 5 stars even though in romania the mujdei and smintina (sour cream) are served separately. Mujdei is the ultimate garlic sauce and my very not-romanian husband LOVES it. We spoon it over polenta or mashed potatoes as well as meat and fish. It is so garlicky it is spicy. I do occasionally add flat leaf parsley to it.

I prefer it with water. I like to dip anything it it,even my fingers, just so I can eat it!
The original one is done with water not sour cream, but I personally make both. they are both excellent and go with a lot of steaks, grills, fries, etc...
It's like my mother makes it (I was born in Romania and I lived there my first 26 years). It goes with all kind of meat and my husband just loves it.
This was great... very potent! I served this with grilled chicken and had pleanty left over. Next time I'll mix this with a whole cup of sour cream.
