This is a recipe that I had received from an old neighbor from when I was a child.

Directions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and mix well.
  3. Add 1 cup flour at a time and mix competely.
  4. Chill overnight.
  5. Roll dough out on cornstarch to 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Cut or roll into small balls in palm of hands.
  7. Roll in ground nuts or coconut.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

We rolled these in finely ground pecans. They were lovely!! Great butter flavor! Very easy recipe. I got 38 cookies out of this. I will make some more of these at Christmas. Thanks Shari!!

This recipe makes lovely little cookies. I halved the recipe and rolled half in sugar and the rest in crushed pecans. I go 64 cookies out of the halved mix...though I did make them quite small. Thanks Shari2.

I really like this recipe! It is very buttery! I was surprised there were only 4 ingredients! We cut the recipe in half since just hubby and I. I found the best way to mix in the flour is with your hand. We rolled into 24 balls then dipped the bottom of a glass in water and flattened. Baked 15 minutes. We didn't use nuts or coconut...we frosted. Yummy! This is a great recipe for the "I feel like cutout cookies but not the hassle"...Thanks Shari2!
