I ground my oats (about 3 cups became 2 of an oat powder) but other wise made as written. Chewy and delicious. I made this for a friend who had a baby 3 weeks ago, I gave her a large plate full and I got a lovely thank you message telling me how wonderful they were. Such a great recipe, can't wait to try them again with white chocolate and nuts. ( I should mention I got just under 7 dozen - that is a lot of cookies!!) Thanks for posting!

The best oatmeal chocolate chip cookie recipe I have ever tried. I have been using it since the Mrs Bush - Mrs Clinton cookie war. I made them both and this one was the best, no question. I get 4 dozen normal, even smallish cookies. You would have to double to get the yield on the recipe of 7.5 dozen, or the cookies would be 1/2" big. I also use fewer chocolate chips with no problem, but mini chips to get them more dispersed in the coookie.

I love these. I made this recipe 3 years ago for Christmas cookie trays, and have made them a few times since. I found the recipe in an Arkansas Junior League cookbook. Oatmeal-chocolate chip is one of my favorite combos.
