A lovely sauce from the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Institute of Chicago, 1947. Wonderful over cake (especially chocolate).
- Combine sugar and water; bring to the boil.
- Cook about ten minutes before adding marshmallowsj.
- Beat until marshmallows are dissolved.
- Serve at once.
DARN!!! I thought this may be a recipe that called for my favorite rainier cherries (the ones that are yellow and blush - just like my icon). I havent tried this sauce but the ingrediants sound good and who could doubt anything from CIA.
