These were a staple food in our house when my girls were young :) Now they make them for their own children. If baked slowly til dried they are a good "teething rusk". Think we called them "Mouse Traps" :) I still make these as a snack or to have with a mug of soup. Thanks for posting this simple but good oldie that many from Australia & New Zealand will remember. :)
Yummy! Loved this but I love vegemite anyway you eat it!
We always had vegemite and cheese sandwiches as children too. They're great toasted (for gluten-free have to use a Vegemite sustitute as it's not GF and gluten-free bread). Even the gluten-free version isn't bad. Sometimes when we were young, my Mum would make mousetraps with Sao biscuits instead of the bread.
My kiwi hubby introduced this to me as a "mousetrap" I LOVE these things! Great post!
