I actually prefer mixing the rice and peppers in while the beans are cooking. I have made this dish literally dozens of times in the last few months and have not once been sick of it. I even brought it to one of my classes, which turned out to be a great success. Excellent recipe!
I gave this three stars because I am from "old" Cuba (BC) before Castro & we never used canned anything.Perhaps somebody likes the Parmesan cheese. The name of this dish in Spanish shows the Cuban sense of humor - it stands for the Moors & the Christians. Anyway cudos to you for trying !
