Great cabbage recipe! The flavor is sort of a tangy sweet/sour flavor. I used butter in place of lard and reduced the amount to 1/3 cup. Don't skip the caraway seeds! They add the special touch. Thanx for a new way to make cabbage!

  1. Simmer cabbage in water for 5 minutes.
  2. Drain, saving liquid.
  3. Brown onion in lard, add flour and stir until brown.
  4. Pour in the liquid from the cabbage and stir until smooth.
  5. Add cabbage, caraway seeds, salt, sugar and vinegar.
  6. Simmer for 20 minutes.
