My mom's spaghetti sauce. I have occasionally added more garlic. LOVE garlic. I have used hamburger and have used ground turkey...not quite as good as the sausage, but still pretty good.
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1⁄2 teaspoon thyme
- 1⁄2 teaspoon basil
- 1 garlic clove (minced, I have used more *LOVE garlic!*)
- 1 bay leaf
- 4 cups crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 3⁄4 cup shredded carrot
- 6 Italian sausages (cooked and crumbled)
- Cook onion and garlic until onion is wilted. Add rest of ingredients and simmer for 30-60 minutes.
- Serve over pasta of your choice.
