This is a favorite in our area. I got the recipe from copkat.com I did add some red wine vinegar to thin a bit. I guessed on the servings. This is a thick salad dressing.
- 1 cup mayonnaise, Hellmann's
- 1⁄3 cup sour cream
- 1⁄2-1 inch anchovy paste
- 1⁄4 teaspoon onion salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2⁄3 cup parmesan cheese
- Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- Mix all ingredients by hand. DO NOT use mixer.
- If too thick add vinegar.
- Add to 3 to 4 cups romaine lettuce.
Great flavor in this dressing. I really loved the anchovy paste. Don't be afraid to try it! It adds depth of flavor to a caesar salad dressing. The dressing is really thick and I did end up thinning it a bit with vinegar - but only a little because I didn't want to change the flavor too much. My whole family enjoyed this dressing. Thank you! ~Made for the Nov. Aussie/NZ Swap~
I was looking to see if this recipe had been posted and was very happy to see it listed. I live about 8 minutes drive from Moonlight and love this salad. A girl from work gave me this recipe about 12 years ago and it is always requested that I bring it to family pot lucks. It is so easy, sometimes I break up my lettuce and place it in a gallon ziplock bag and mix the dressing in a throw away container to take to an event the next day, mix it when I get there. It is delicious and so easy!!! It is ALWAYS well received. Thanks happynana for posting it, it should be shared with the world!!!
