Mom's Waldorf Salad

This is my mother's well loved recipe. Christmas dinner would not be complete without this lovely salad.

Ingredients:

Servings: 6

• 5 cups unpeeled apples
• 2 ½ cups chopped celery
• 1 ¼ cups chopped pecans or 1 ¼ cups chopped walnuts
• ½ cup cream or ½ cup milk
• 2 teaspoons Miracle Whip or 2 teaspoons mayonnaise
• 2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar
• 2 teaspoons sugar
• salt and pepper

Directions:

1. Place apples, celery, and nuts in a large bowl.
2. Mix together cream and Miracle Whip.
3. Add cider, sugar, salt and pepper to cream mixture.
4. Pour over apples and mix well.
5. Chill until serving time.

This is GOOD!! Wonderful taste. Lovely presentation. Easy to make. I wouldn't change a thing, it's a perfect salad for any occasion. I will put this one in my "keeper" file. Thanks Miss Annie for another super recipe.

Lovely! A perfect addition to an autumn dinner party. I used pecans instead of walnuts and milk instead of cream (I'll use cream next time). So wonderful without any of those nasty additions like pineapple and (gasp) mini marshmellows. ;) Thanks for a simple yet elegant salad.
