Mom's Sweet Marie Bars

"My mom made these a lot when I was a kid. I have fond memories of these treats at birthday parties and family gatherings. I always called them 'fancy rice krispy squares'"

 

• Ready In: 15mins
• Ingredients: 8
• Yields: 2 dozen squares

ingredients

• 1 cup corn syrup
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup peanut butter
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 4 cups Rice Krispies
• 1 cup peanuts
• chocolate icing

directions

1. Melt syrup, brown sugar and peanut butter over low heat.
2. Add butter and vanilla.
3. Remove from heat and quickly add rice krispy's and peanuts and stir until blended.
4. Spread in buttered 9 x 13 pan.
5. Let set for awhile.
6. Cover with chocolate icing.
