This is mom's coleslaw recipe. She is always asked to make the slaw at every family function because she makes the best. As a special note, I believe that the fine-ness of the shredding of the cabbage & carrots really can change the turnout of the coleslaw. My family really likes it finely shredded. Others may like it shredded much more course.

I made this recipe on 9/09/09 for the " Fall PAC 2009 ", and as part of our dinner. Since there was just the two of us, the recipe was greatly reduced. The amount of cabbage was cut down to 1/2 pound of shredded. And the rest of the ingredients were adjusted to our tastes. It was very easy to put together. And we both enjoyed the taste. - 2 lbs heads of cabbage, shredded (medium size)
- 1 large carrot, shredded
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 1 cup mayonnaise
