These burgers are great. We cooked them over charcoal. I added 1 T horseradish and used a smoky flavored barbecue sauce. They were a big hit! Thanks Kym, I will keep the recipe handy!

This is the best recipe I've found. Simple, with easy to find ingredients. Don't go too low fat with the meat though. Just like everyone else says, they'll fall apart.

I made these for a quick dinner last night. I used hamburger with 15% fat content and they were crumbly and didn't stick together well to make a patty. Some of the meat found it's way on to the coals. Even though crubly, they tasted pretty good. The kids liked them a lot.

I was a little worried as my hubby is a burger purist. Not only did I think they were delicious he said they were too. I used a higher fat ground beef and grilled them on the gas grill. They wanted to fall apart at first but I left them alone and once they cooked abit they were fine. I will make these again. They were just different enough to be .... well...different. Not your average grilled burger. Only change I made...I didn't have chili sauce so I made my own with 1/4 cup of ketchup and added minced garlic and horseradish to taste. They still worked!

This recipe is delicious although for some reason my burgers fell apart, and I ended up putting it all in a frying pan to make sloppy joes. It was very tasty but I'm trying to figure out what happened because the only changes I made to this recipe were to use matzoh (crumbled and not moistened) instead of corn flakes and to use 1/2 c bbq sauce and no chili sauce. It was very tasty and my kids really enjoyed it so I'm sure I'll try it again and hope the burgers stay together.

I have made this recipe twice so far, and both times it has been loved by everyone! I didn't have the chili sauce, so I doubled the barbecue sauce, and it was amazing, I can't wait for summer to come, so we can be sitting outside enjoying these amazing hamburgers!

We usually try to have a burger and fries every Saturday night, and I decided to try this one.And I'm so glad we did.As another poster did,I used breadcrumbs and it worked out just fine.Since we don't have a grill I pan-fried the burgers. They turned out very moist and the chili sauce gave them a different but good taste.I served them with Oven Baked French Fries. This will be made again,Thank you for posting."Keep Smiling:)"

i followed all the specifications except for the cornflakes as i had run out. i substituted breadcrumbs instead as a binding agent. it was phenonmenal!! easy, tasty, a definite keeper. a perfect recipe for old fashioned, homestyle hamburgers. will definetly make again. in fact, who needs frozen store bought burgers anymore? this is the real deal and you are in charge of every last ingredient that goes in them. thanks kim for a great recipe!

These were very easy and good hamburgers. I made the full recipe, 4 burgers, cooked 2 and froze 2 for a busy night sometime. I used "buffalo" hamburger, the grocer had a special introductory offer, we really liked it and will buy it again. I also used salsa because that's what I had in and Hoisen sauce in place of bbq sauce. We will make them again, thanks for sharing!

I made a bunch of these for the freezer for quick meals. They are really good! I used salsa in place of chili sauce and bran flakes instead of cornflakes since that is what I had on hand. They smelled a little odd with bran but they sure taste good. I used lean ground beef and fried mine frozen, no trouble sticking.

Made these yesterday for a family get-together. Flavor was great, as attested to by all attending, but I had difficulty achieving cohesion of the cooked patties (used a propane grill). Perhaps a less lean meat (I used a fairly lean mixture) would correct this.
