This is almost identical to my favorite recipe (mine has 2 eggs and 3/4 cup of white sugar.) I think the evaporated milk is what makes this special; it's custardy but not too rich. I like to mix the spices into the sugar before adding to the other ingredients to make sure that they are evenly distributed. Always gets compliments.
have made this twice now and it is a lovely recipe and very easy to make. I used ready made (cooked) sweet pastry cases and it worked really well.
