This is my favorite casserole of all time! My mom's been making it forever and it's always been my favorite breakfast. I can't have a birthday without this for breakfast! It's very versatile, you can substitute all of the ingredients. I've always called it sausage and eggs mixed together, though it's really a generic breakfast casserole.
- 6 eggs
- 6 slices bread, decrusted and cubed
- 1 lb cooked sausage
- 2 cups milk
- 1 1⁄2 cups cheese
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- salt and pepper
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix all ingredients.
- Pour into a greased 9 by 12 metal pan and put in the oven for 45 minutes, or until brown.
I cut the recipe back to 2 servings and cooked it in a skillet - took apprx 5 minutes. I flipped it half way through cooking. Loved it. Served with A1 sauce. Thanks for a lovely Sunday Brunch
My friend made this recipe and it was delicious. I came online to get a copy. I know she went by the recipe and it was yummy! I am suprised by the amount of eggs because it really seems more. Highly recommended for something simple yet delicious.
Very good. Made today. Only change : I added one small chopped onion and tomato. Used italian loaf, italian soft cheese and some cream cheese. (Only cheeses I had on had) I will try with cheddar and or mozzarella next time. You could like you said do so many things with this. Thank you and your mom.
