directions

  • Boil 4 eggs on med/high for 20 mins or so.
  • In a saucepan, over med. heat, combine the milk, butter, salt, and pepper. Cook until butter melts, then add the flour. Stir frequently using a whisk to insure a lump free sauce. Once the mix starts to bubble, turn the heat down and let simmer. The sauce should be a little thick.
  • Toast the bread.
  • Slice egg and seperate the yolk.
  • Lay the toast on a plate. Place egg ring on top. Pour the sauce over top, then sprinkle with egg yolk.

  1. Gosh! I used to love this. Mom called it creamed eggs and I loved it over toasted sourdough cut in cubes. You know...I think I'll make it tonight! Thanks so much for bringing back this comfort food recipe, charityd. wendy

I am married to a wonderful man. I have two kids ages 6 & 5. They keep me busy. I work with mentally retarded and physically handicap adults. My family members are all picky eaters and have food allergies (chicken, fish, eggs, and nuts) so we have gotten in a rut were we eat the same old things. I am looking for safe and delicious new ideas. Sometimes I like to hide veggies into food to get my hubby and son to eat healthy. I would love to start eating healthier and making less expensive meals.
