This is my mother and grandmother's recipe and one of my comfort dinners.

Made as posted except I used cannellini beans in place of lima beans. Delicious and warming soup. Thanks for sharing your heritage recipe Ashley. Made for PAC Spring 2011 ~ORPHANAGE~

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. May need 2 large cooking pots.
  2. Brown meat and drain then set aside.
  3. Mix tomato sauce with tomato juice.
  4. Cook potatoes in tomato juice until tender.
  5. Add onions.
  6. Add cans of vegetables with their juices (may need 2nd pot now).
  7. Add hamburger meat.
  8. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  9. serve over cornbread.
