A wonderful side dish made with Vidalia onions and canned soup......takes a little while to cook, but definitely well worth it. Cooking time may vary according to different ovens.
- Slice onions thin and place layers in a 2 quart buttered casserole dish, putting a sprinkle of salt & pepper between each layer.
- Pour both cans of cheese soup over top, undiluted.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 1/2 hrs or until onions are soft.
This is destined to be a 5 star recipe, due to it's incredible simplicity and wonderful taste. My only suggestion is that it came out WAAY too salty. There is plenty of salt/sodium in the cans of soup that sprinkling salt between the layers just put it over the top. Next time, just pepper for us and thanks for posting a keeper!
