I've made this recipe at least 4 or 5 times now and it's always a big hit. Also so easy and quick, you can't mess it up.
Love the chewiness of these, & I'm beginning to realize that I need to get back to baking more with molasses! I used some of the large amount of pistachios that I have on hand, & they were great in this recipe! Such an easy recipe to make ~ will definitely keep this on hand! Many thanks!
i had no molasses so used treacle instead, and brown instead of white sugar to make up for it, and soy margarine instead of shortening. i was suspicious when i made this, because it looked like so little batter for such a large pan. but i am glad i trusted the directions; the 'cookies' are rich, gooey and addictive, and don't burn in my temperamental oven. will definitely make again!
Stephanie, this is a great bar recipe. It is very easy to make, I did use fat free margerine for the shortening and also used splenda for the sugar. This is a keeper recipe, Thanks again for posting.
